Radiator Module Lift & Reinstallation Using Cube Jack System

Radiator Module Lift & Reinstallation Using Cube Jack System
At Finch of Bookham, we were contracted to provide specialist lifting support for the removal and later reinstallation of a radiator module, as part of a planned refurbishment project. This complex operation required precise handling and coordination using our Cube Jack System and associated heavy lifting equipment.

Delivery and Setup
Our transport team arrived on site with the Cube Jack components and other specialist lifting and moving equipment. We positioned and set up outside the loading bay to safely offload a 2.5T forklift (FLT).
Our qualified forklift operator offloaded all Cube Jack components inside the loading bay, preparing them for installation. The rigging team then manoeuvred the Cube Jacks into their required positions. Each jack was accurately landed onto 500mm x 500mm steel stands, ensuring a secure and stable foundation.

Lift Preparation and Execution
Once the Cube Jacks were powered up to the specified height, our team attached 10T lifting beams to each jack. In parallel, our client ensured the radiator module was free from any obstructions and ready to lift.
Under the direction of our Lift Supervisor, the rigging team elevated the radiator module, carefully lifting it clear of its AV mounts. All securing bolts were removed, and once fully raised, we lowered the module to approximately one metre above ground level.
If required during the operation, our team was fully prepared to remove the module entirely from the Cube Jacks and lower it onto timber blocks for temporary positioning.

Reinstallation and Demobilisation
Following the successful completion of refurbishment works, we returned to site to carry out the reverse operation. The radiator module was re-lifted, positioned accurately into the ceiling void, and securely reseated.
Once the site supervisor confirmed all work was completed to satisfaction, we carefully dismantled the Cube Jack System. Our team then de-mobilised, stowing all lifting and moving equipment in reverse order of arrival. Final site checks were conducted, and our staff signed out before vehicles departed the site.

Outcome
This project was delivered safely, on schedule, and to full satisfaction. Our meticulous planning, experienced team, and specialist equipment allowed for a smooth execution from start to finish – reinforcing Finch of Bookham’s reputation as trusted specialist machinery movers.
