The GMK3060L combines impressive lifting performance with a compact design, making it ideal for the kind of restricted and challenging environments we regularly work in. Built on a three-axle carrier, it offers excellent manoeuvrability while still delivering the strength and reach required for complex lifting operations.
With one of the shortest overall lengths and lowest heights in its class, the crane is perfectly suited to working in confined locations such as industrial facilities, plant rooms, construction sites and tight urban environments.
One of the standout features of the crane is its seven-section MEGAFORM™ boom, which provides outstanding reach and lifting capacity. With a maximum boom and extension length of 63 metres, the crane can still lift 2.4 tonnes at full reach, giving our team the flexibility to carry out lifts that would previously require larger equipment.
The crane also features TWINLOCK™ boom pinning technology, which automatically secures the boom sections in position using horizontal pins. This design allows the crane to use a single telescoping cylinder, reducing overall weight while increasing lifting capacity and efficiency.
The crane is equipped with the latest Crane Control System (CCS), designed to provide operators with a highly intuitive and precise control environment. Dual vertical graphic displays improve visibility, while ergonomic joysticks and a jog dial make operating the crane smoother and more efficient.
This system also includes a Boom Configurator mode, enabling quick onboard lift planning and simplifying the telescoping process — helping our operators work safely and efficiently on site.
For the types of projects Finch of Bookham regularly undertakes, flexibility is essential. The crane’s MAXbase variable outrigger positioning system allows multiple outrigger configurations, improving load chart calculations and expanding the working range beyond traditional 360-degree charts.
With three outrigger positions available, the crane can be set up safely even where space is limited.
In addition, the MEGATRAK™ independent suspension system with all-wheel steering provides exceptional manoeuvrability across different terrains while reducing tyre wear and improving ground clearance.
Despite its strength and reach, the crane maintains a compact width of just 2.75 metres, allowing access to narrow job sites and restricted industrial locations where larger cranes would struggle.
This combination of compact size, strong lifting capability and advanced control systems makes it a perfect fit for the type of specialist lifting and machinery relocation projects Finch of Bookham carries out across the UK.
Reaching 100 years in business is an incredible milestone for our company, and investing in this new crane felt like the perfect way to celebrate the occasion. It represents both a birthday present to ourselves and a continued investment in the equipment and expertise that our clients rely on.
For a century, Finch of Bookham has built a reputation for precision, reliability and professionalism in machinery moving and specialist lifting. The addition of the GMK3060L crane ensures we can continue delivering those services with even greater capability for many years to come.
