At Finch of Bookham, we know that specialist machine moving requires more than just muscle – it demands precision, skill, and a deep understanding of safety and equipment. That’s why ongoing training is a core part of who we are.

Based in the South of England and working on projects all over the UK, we pride ourselves on having a team that’s not only experienced but continuously evolving through training and professional development.

Constant Learning, From the Ground Up

Even our more recent team members – James, Joe, and Adam – are no strangers to hard work or high standards. This year, they’ve each completed their slingers and forklift training, earning their CPCS (Construction Plant Competence Scheme) licences. These qualifications ensure they can operate safely and confidently on any site, handling complex lifts and machinery moves with ease.

Experienced Team, Always Advancing

Training doesn’t stop once you’re established – and our longer-serving team members are just as committed to staying sharp. Craig recently completed his SSSTS (Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme), equipping him with up-to-date knowledge to lead sites safely and efficiently.

Tom has expanded his skillset with a CPCS NVQ in both forklift operations and slinging, adding further versatility to his role on site.

Adam has also completed his 5-year CPCS NVQ in lorry loading, reinforcing his knowledge and confirming his ongoing commitment to safe and professional practice.

Safety as a Standard

Nothing is more important than safety. Several of our staff are currently renewing their manual handling, working at height, and harness training – essential refreshers completed every three years to ensure we remain compliant and protected on every job.

We’ve also got team members undergoing their IPAF (International Powered Access Federation) training, a five-year cycle that ensures our operatives are fully qualified to work with powered access platforms safely and effectively.
